Elongate Laptop Battery's Life

There are three main kinds of laptop batteries - Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium Ion (LiON). They vary in price, weight and specific characteristics. All advanced laptops have light lithium ion or lithium polymer batteries which are commonly pre-installed in laptops. These batteries are powerful enough to run laptops as well as accessories, such as mp3 players, DVD players and USB devices. They are not that heavyweight as NiCd and NiMH batteries and do not produce any memory effect. If exploited in the proper way, LiON batteries commonly run for around three years, but it is essential to clarify that the three-year period begins as soon as batteries are produced and not when you start to deploy them. A pc battery should be replaced or re-charged when the pc cannot function any longer unless connected to the main supply of electricity through an adaptor. Beneath are several guidelines to prolong laptop battery's life. • Avoid frequent full discharges, because this puts added strain on a battery. Partial discharges with frequent recharges are preferable for LiON batteries than a full discharge. Recharging partially charged LiON batteries is safe, since they have no memory. Reduced battery's life in a laptop is commonly resulted from heat rather than charge - discharge patterns. • It is recommended to discharge a battery to the full after 30 charges. Otherwise, the fuel gauge will become significantly less accurate and the laptop can go dead prematurely. • Keep a lithium-ion pc battery cool. • Consider removing a laptop battery from a laptop when it is run on a fixed power. (Some laptop producers express concern for dust and moisture accumulating inside the pc battery casing.) • Avoid buying spare LiON batteries for later deployment. Pay attention to the date of expiration. Never purchase old stock, even if it is sold at reduced prices. • If you have a spare LiON laptop battery, deploy one to the full and keep the other one cool by placing it into the fridge. Do not freeze the battery. For best results, store the laptop battery at 40% state-of-charge. Before using any device, remember to read a manual supplied.
