Clomid significantly raises the chance of becoming pregnant

Conceiving is frequently not as easy as it seems to be. While there are many things you can do to help heighten your chances of pregnancy, such as bettering your wellness and daily routines or experimenting with an alternative therapy, such as aromatherapy, a natural aphrodisiac and natural cures, not every patient is successful. Dealing with infertility issues can be hard for any couple. The causes of infertility, although, can vary. Only 30% of cases are caused by female factors. In another 30% of cases, sterility is because of the male. The remaining 40% of cases are brought on by a combination of male and female factors or by unknown factors. Many couples that have difficulty conceiving through natural methods give preference to various fertility treatments to raise their chances of becoming pregnant. One of the most popular drugs prescribed to increase fertility is Clomid. Known as clomiphene citrate, the drug is available under the brand names Clomid and Serophene. Clomid induces a woman's ovaries to mature a raised number of follicles every month. Because Clomid increases the number of mature follicles in the ovaries, the drug therapy also raises the probability of ovulation and conception. Clomid works by acting on diverse nerve endings in the body that control hormone production and release. In particular, Clomid works by increasing the amount of 3 hormones involved in the ovulation, such as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). The drug makes the human body believe that it has low levels of estrogen. As a result, the human brain begins to release raised levels of GnRH, which, in turn, triggers the secretion of FSH and LH. The hormones then trigger the ovaries to start to mature more follicles. Clomid is taken orally on specific days of the menstrual cycle. Mainly, Clomid side effects are mild and not very troublesome. Yet, at high doses females may have mood swings, sickness and vomiting, breast tenderness, splitting headaches, fatigue. The major risk associated with Clomid administration is the potential for developing Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS). OHSS can happen with the administration of any type of ovulation stimulating drug therapy. It occurs when cysts begin to form on the ovaries, forcing them to swell to a very large size. Ordinarily, OHSS disappears without cure but, without proper testing, the syndrome can become dangerous. Potential complications include kidney problems, liver problems, fluid collection in the lungs and stomach, twisting of the ovaries. In general, Clomid is a very effective medication for the majority of women suffering from ovulatory dysfunction. In fact, 70% - 90% of females taking Clomid begin to ovulate within the first three cycles. Besides, 40% of couples conceive during the first three cycles.
